Position Information Salary Commensurate With Experience Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey seeks a Post-Doctoral Associate for the Blueberry Entomology program located at the Rutgers , NJ. Position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of a , 2022.The successful applicant will join a vibrant laboratory with a diverse and collaborative environment with access to cutting-edge resources in a major research university.The duties of the position will concentrate on the development and execution of laboratory and field protocols to evaluate repellents and push-pull strategies for spotted-wing drosophila in blueberries.The successful applicant is expected to provide leadership, contribute to writing scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, and present results at scientific conferences. Posting Number 22FA0447 Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requires a PhD degree preferably in Entomology or other relevant area. Required expertise in insect behavior, field and laboratory work, and statistical analysis. Requires good communication skills and computer literacy. Knowledge of conducting laboratory experiments and safely using laboratory equipment. Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires excellent oral and written communication skills and high level of computer literacy. Must have a high level of familiarity with typical laboratory equipment and typical software used in entomological research. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license. Equipment Utilized Standard laboratory equipment including dissecting and compound microscopes, autoclaves, volatile collection apparatus, gas chromatography, ethovision, olfactometers.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical analysis software. Physical Demands and Work Environment Will work under laboratory and seasonal field conditions. Overview 70% 1. Laboratory and field development and execution of research trials.20% 2.
